This week we’re honoring someone who worked to heal America’s narratives in a variety of ways—my favorite football-and-rugby-playing, fiction-award-winning, Golden Gloves boxer, Rhodes Scholar, U.S. Army Ranger Captain and helicopter pilot, singer-songwriter, actor, father, and grandfather. We’ll both peruse his career, and take a look at the impacts of cultural givens and developmental worldview in his life.
