This Is Not Who We Are As a Country

Well, yes it is.

This podcast explores American violence and will be a bit longer than usual. It includes some poems from Killing America (2018), which captured images of violence in the late 20th and early 21st-century United States.

Recommendation: Take some time to reflect on the way(s) that violence has directly or indirectly impacted you and those close to you. Many of us are fortunate not to have direct experience of violence. What is it that you might do, in whatever small way, to lessen the violence in your world—and/or in the world of others?

Something to Consider: Expanding on the recommendation a bit, what is it that you might do, beyond what you’re already doing, to increase the odds that people who are rewarded by violence—whether with money or power—have less of a voice in American politics?
